Visa unveils crypto enabled cards in Latin America

Visa, one of the biggest payments companies in the world, has announced the launch of a series of crypto-enabled cards in partnership with several fintech startups in Latin America.

Customers will be able to collect cashback in Bitcoin for each payment they make, whether online or in-store, which is a first for Latin America.

The functions that these cards will feature include paying with crypto, purchasing crypto via Visa-enabled crypto outlets, and also receiving purchase cash back in bitcoin.

In a statement, the company explained that the move “includes recently launched cryptocurrency card programs and partnerships” with fintech providers crypto exchange startups in the region.
