The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) plans to complete its central bank digital currency (CBDC) pilot by mid-2023.
The project, which began in July, will help “further understanding of some of the technological, legal and regulatory considerations associated with a CBDC,” according to an official document.
The results of the research will be published at the end of the project around mid-2023.
