Ripple has in-principle approval for a major payment institution license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
As Singapore’s central bank and regulatory authority, the MAS approval allows Ripple to provide regulated digital payment token products and services.
“We’re pleased that Singapore has taken a forward-looking approach to how to regulate digital assets,” said Stu Alderoty, Ripple’s Chief Legal Officer.
